Just a quick note -

It seems that some people have been emailing me at my netcom address asking for information and offering praise for my stories, etc...but when I reply I'm getting bounce messages.

If you want to receive an return email, *please* make sure that the address in the "Reply to" field is real and correct! I get so much email every day, I can't keep trying to track people down and make sure that I've got their correct email addresses. I totally appreciate the kinds words about my stories - and I'm more than willing to answer questions about panels that I'm running, but if your email address bounces, then it's kind of pointless. :-)

My apologies if I seem to have not answered your email - it may be due to a bounced message.

Events: Tentative Schedule for AXNY Panels

For those of you who might want to actually know *when* the respective panels I'll be on are, here's
the tentative schedule - all of these are taking place at the Marriot on Times Square, Room LP3 - the Karaoke Room (the Hudson and Empire conference rooms):

1PM-3PM - Yaoi/Yuri Panel

4PM-6PM - Fanfic Panel

3PM-5PM - Fanfiction Workshop

The panel about running an anime convention was aborted, so that's that. :-)

Events: Yuricon at AXNY/BAAF

Yuricon will, along with Shoujocon and Anime Next, have a table at Anime Expo NY/Big Apple Anime Festival. Drop by for registration materials, posters, volunteer opportunities and possibly, if the gods are good to us, t-shirts. Say hi to our staffers and our friendly neighborhood conventions.

I'll be running the Yaoi/Yuri Panel, and a Fanfic Writing Workshop as part of the festivities, and you can find me on the Fanfic Panel, or as part of the Panel on running anime conventions. Please stop by and say hello at any of those venues. I always enjoy meeting new people. (And since I'm giving you two whole weeks warning, you have no reason not to come by.)

As the date gets closer (and I find my notebook where I mark this stuff down) I'll let you know *where* and *when* these panels and workshops are.

We apologize for the inconvenience

This weekend was clearly brought to you by the letter "F." As in "Fubar."

Because of circumstances, I never made it to the Anime Alliance Picnic and, although I did in fact make it to the Anime Next meeting and to Meow Mix, the A/V person that should have been there never showed. So we did not have an anime showing. We did have an impromptu get-together/chat session and I met a few new folks and spoke with alot of friends and staff and that was cool.

About 6:30 we decided that we'd blow the popsicle stand and go back to whence we came...and apparently someone came in after that, so my apologies to that lone person who wondered where the hell we were.

For various reasons, we won't be returning to Meow Mix, so I'm pretty comfortable in saying that that kind of thing won't happen again.

Events: Atlantic Anime Alliance and Meow Mix

First appearance update - this Saturday and Sunday, you'll be able to meet my wonderful self at two separate events:

The Atlantic Anime Alliance is having a picnic in New Brunswick, NJ, in Johnson Park. This is the organization created and maintained by Steve Pearl, the Otaking himself. :-) Steve's a very nice man and has invited me to come by and "meet the guys." So I'll be there, probably in the early afternoon. Do please come up and introduce yourself if you're going to be there.

On Sunday, we'll be having our third and final Meow Mix event. (Final because we're looking for another venue...) We're doing "Tough Chicks" anime, which will include classic Bubblegum Crisis, Devilman Lady and Kekko Kamen (animated and, if we have time, live-action.)

The Meow Mix event is from 4PM-8PM at 269 E. Houston, in NYC and is $5 to get into, but if you mention this blog, we'll give you a discount. :-) It ought to be fun, but I was so hoping that the weather would have broken by then. Afterwards, there's a better than average chance that we'll all go out for food, so stick around and chat with us!

I'm also on the staff of Anime NEXT that's happening here in NJ, in October, so I'll be checking into their staff meeting on Sunday before the MM event, so maybe I can meet a few new folks then too. :-)

I hope I'll see some folks at these two events!

Day Two Blog -

Water is running low, I'm feeling weak. There is no end in sight...

Actually, there is. I did a fair bit of writing last night and I think I finished a story enough to send it to the editors. Yea.

Need more time...no wait, less time. Too much leisure time and I revert right back to the book reading introvert I really am. Book suggestions for the day: Sayonara by James Michener. And no, I haven't gone mad. It's a surprisingly good book. It's a love story with a (duh) tragic ending, but it was still damn good. What I enjoyed best was the very American description of the Takarazuka all-girl musical revue. I thought it very real and accurate and probably not that far from what I'll be thinking when I see it myself.

Welcome to Okazu. "Okazu" is Japanese for appetizers - and is slang for lesbian sex because, you know it's not *real* sex. LOL It's also a good name for dribbles of writing that aren't stories - just thoughts and comments and updates on things I'm doing.

Last note - it dawned on me yesterday that Yuricon is my mid-life crisis. You know, the whole, making my mark on society, etc, etc, leaving a legacy, yaddayadda. I suppose it could be worse than planning a kick-ass rockin' party for 600 people. :-)
